Craps Basics 02/04/2006 |
Always remember the game of craps is more about chance and less about skill.
It is nearly impossible to hazard a guess with any accuracy about the outcome or what will be thrown. You just enjoy throwing the dice, and then leave everything to your fate.
Individual players in casino craps place the bets. The casino bank covers them. Apart from covering every player's bet, the casino-banked craps game also has several other types of proposition bets. These along with the basic pass and don't pass bets need to be understood before you play the game of craps.
If you wish to try your luck at a Craps table, ensure you know the rules totally- in and out. Craps gamblers are, no surprise, very superstitious because their luck determines their fate in the casinos
Four people run the game of craps. The boxman sits behind the middle of the table runs the show. He keeps a tab on the game. The two dealers who are there on each side of him pay off the winners. They simultaneously rake in the losers' chips. Each of the two dealers handles all the players on his respective side.
The table is generally divided by the center box of proposition bets and so also by the stickman. If a player rolls a 2, 3 or 12 on the first throw, it is termed craps, and you lose. The dealer, as a part of the process, picks up your pass-line bet. The shooter, however, does not give up the dice, and continues to roll.
