Slot machines come in a wide variety of denominations and a wide variety of styles. The original Nickel-in-the-Slot Machine appeared in New York in 1890, it was based on technology from the East and was made to simulate Slots and Dice gambling. It was not until the Slots found their way to San Francisco that their true potential was realized. In a city famous for its leniency and its thousand bars, the slot machine was right at home.
Now, let us trace the history of slots. As some records show, the original Slot Machine, known as the “Liberty Bell”, was conceived and built by Charles Fey. He built it in San Francisco at the end of the 19th century. So, it was quite long back.
Slots have come a long way since then. It’s been well over 100 years. A lot of innovations have been done. Now, let us take a look at some of the features of modern slots:

• They are mostly computer controlled
• It is not possible to effect outside manipulating of the slot machines. Cheaters cannot anymore manipulate slot machine history.

• Slots also work across the web, and they are no more bound by geographical barriers.
• Slots are now more exciting and enjoyable as compared to the original Nickel-in-the-Slot machine.
All these features have aided the mercurial rise of the slot machine.
