Rules
In Blackjack, player and dealer receive two cards to begin with. The players hand is face up while the dealer leaves one card facing down. Now, based on the hand dealt the player must decide on a course of action:

Hit: To take another card
Stand: To stay with the two cards dealt
Fold: To give up your hand and lose your bet
Split: To split your first two cards to create two new hands (this requires and additional bet)
Double: Doubling the bet on your current hand to receive ONE additional card (this is often done on hands like a 9, 10 or 11).

After the player has finished making their decisions the dealer turns his second card over. The dealer must stand on a 17 or higher and hit on a 16 or lower.

The ultimate goal in Blackjack is to get a hand that totals 21. Sometimes this is done with a face card and an ace, the Blackjack. A Blackjack pays 3:2. This hand automatically wins unless the dealer has a Blackjack as well, in which case it is a tie or push. A hand that contains more than three cards but adds up to 21 is not considered a Blackjack.
