Online Sportsbetting Targets Sarah Palin and Fox News
As unbelievable as it sounds, Fox News and Sarah Palin have become the subjects of online gambling speculation! Paddy Power, a European online sportsbooker, has decided to take bets on how long Palin will last as an analyst with the popular news channel.
Recently, Fox News has announced that Palin has signed a multi-year contract to join the network, offering her political views on a variety of Fox News programs. While Conservative groups in America strongly support Palin and are thereby content with the news, others are skeptical about her political expertise – thus prompting Paddy Power to post the odds of her longevity with the network.
According to the online gambling operator, the odds of Palin leaving before September are 8 to 1 while the odds of her staying until the end of the year are 10 to 11. Any player who bets that she will last until 2011 will win an impressive prize, with odds of 11 to 10. Paddy Power’s calculation of these odds are based on the fact that Palin is what officials call “gaffe prone”, which means she is likely to make a crucial on-air error that could cost her the position.
Paddy Power has also listed Palin as a potential candidate for the 2012 presidential election. She is third on their list of pics, behind Milt Romney and Haley Barbour. Just below Palin on the list is Arnold Schwarzenegger, although he is ineligible for candidacy.
